Where Education and Inspiration Meet

My name is Blythe Quelin (say the "y" like "sky" and the "t-h-e" like "breathe") and I recently relocated to Seattle after more than 15 years of teaching piano in the Princeton, NJ area.  I studied voice pedagogy and performance with a minor in piano at Westminster Choir College, where I completed my undergraduate and master's degrees.  Although my primary performing instrument is voice, my teaching career focuses on piano as the ideal instrument to develop a thorough understanding of fundamentals.
I love teaching music more than anything in the world.  My goal is always to share my love and passion for music with my students.  We'll learn technique, note-reading, music theory, and artistic expression so that you'll leave my studio able to teach yourself almost any piece you want.  Most importantly, I want my students to look back on their lessons with happiness and joy!
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy choral and solo singing.  Here's a link to some recordings.  I am also an avid knitter and crocheter.  Here's a link to some of the projects I have made.  I live in South Lake Union with my husband and our wonderful dog, Pixel.
I look forward to meeting you soon so we can get started on your musical journey!
